My chihuahua needs a dental cleaning but can't go under anesthesia

2022.01.17 12:29 Bughugger1776 My chihuahua needs a dental cleaning but can't go under anesthesia

Species: dog
Age: 6-8
Sex/Neuter status: neutered
Breed: chihuahua
Body weight: 8 lbs
History: He was hit by a car as a stray and was picked up by a kind rescue who funded his FHO surgery. After recovering in foster care, my partner and I adopted him 1.5 years ago.
Clinical signs: tartar, stinky dog breath
Duration: N/A
Your general location: Atlanta
Links to test results, X-rays, vet reports etc: N/A
Hello! My little guy, Baba, has been examined by his doctor, has tartar and stinky breath and definitely would benefit from a dental cleaning, but he has a stage 3 heart murmur. His doctor is not comfortable with him going under general anesthesia without first being assessed by a cardiologist. I'm skeptical to pay for the specialist because I'm pretty sure the answer will be "yup, don't put him under." His doctor says she would normally recommend a cleaning for him but because he does not have any broken teeth or problems that are visibly impacting his quality of life, it’s not currently worth the risk. He isn't showing clinical signs of heart failure so my doc did not recommend beginning meds yet. I've had another chihuahua with heart failure so I'm aware of the importance of dental health as it relates to heart health and I want to do whatever I can to keep him healthy without a dental cleaning. Do you veddits have any recommendations for me? I’m talking chews or something like that. He’s a biter when you try to brush his teeth. Thanks in advance!

2022.01.17 12:29 afanofsweaters Are these signals or just being nice?

I (24f) have worked with this guy (24f) for a couple years but we had different positions so haven’t had too much contact prior to this summer. I always had interest and thought he was cute from a far but I got a promotion and now we work on the same team and are basically equals on different projects. We only see each other virtually and when I see him in meetings he messages me privately, remembers little details about what I say, and shows a lot of interest in my personal/work life. There’s been an uptick in texting outside of work also and he’s usually the one to keep the conversation going through questions and saying he’ll get back to me on my recommendations. When I see him in person though (only a few times the past few months) he didn’t even say hi and seemed like he was actively avoiding me even though he was social with other people we know.
We have so much in common and have a great time whenever we talk but since we’re on the same team at work I don’t want to be too overtly flirty. He’s also widely regarded as one of the nicest and most attractive guys at our company even though he doesn’t seem to he sees that as much as others. Do I shoot my shot? Is he just being nice?

So my girlfriend runs a Guinea pig rescue in our backyard but they bags of hay have been costing us about 20 bucks every three days. Anybody know where I can buy hay in bulk and potentially save some $? TIA and stay safe everyone

2022.01.17 12:29 Maleficent-Sail4958 TIFU by having "fun time" alone in my room

Sorry for any misspells english is not my first language. So this happened about 45 minutes ago at the time of writing and I decided to post this here cause i got the idea from watching rslash videos about this sub.

I'm a 13 year old male. Mistake #1 today after school i jumped in front of the computer opened the "black and orange website" for some alone time and took out my "little friend". Mistake #2 I found a good video and clicked on it. I was in the middle of "the businnes" when my dad burst in. Mistake #3 I turned around with the video still open. Mistake #4 making very and I mean VERY akward eye contact with my dad while my "magic wand" was still out (I come from Finland where nudity aroubd family members is normal or atleast not a taboo). We both knew what I was doing and my dad just asked me what do I want to eat today. When he left about 15 seconds later I was almost crying ofembarassment.

I'm now cringing in my room at this and fearing that my parents are going to have the talk with me.

TLDR: my dad caught me playing with myself and just played it off and asked what I wanted to eat.

2022.01.17 12:29 urelatedissues Im 22, what route do i need to take to get full A1 license? UK

Hey Guys,
I'm currently 22 (and 1 month) and have been driving a car about 3 months. I want to start riding a motorbike soon. What's the best route?
I believe I have two options:
CBT - Ride on the CBT until I hit 24 and go for the direct access to the A license.
Direct Access A2 - Go straight for the A2 direct access and forget about riding a 125cc bike.
I think a 46.6bhp bike will be more than enough for the first 4 years of riding. I'm finding it hard to choose.
What do you guys think? Have I misunderstood anything?
